Our Wines
Our Tasting Room is open year-round. Our summer hours are Thursday through Sunday, 1pm – 6pm.
Overmountain Vineyard has five varieties of grapes planted; Cabernet Savuginon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Our estate premium wine is Petit Manseng.
After tasting our wines, feel free to enjoy your picnic lunch with a bottle or glass of wine by the creek or on our front porch.
Chardonnay
Steel fermentation only, so no oak or butter present. Pinot Grigio in style with a classic Chardonnay nose. Hints of citrus and lemon grass with a crisp green apple finish.
Petit Manseng
New grape for the state of North Carolina. First planted at Surry community College. This grape has a loose bunch and thick skin perfect for warding off mildews in NC’s moist and humid climate. Grape also achieves high brix up to 27 degrees or better while also maintaining a high acidity. Most grapes start to loose acidity as the brix increases. Grows well in the south of France which has a similar climate to NC. Sweeter to balance the high acidity.
Kings Mountain Rosé
A blend of Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc and Merlot dry Rosé. Skin contact for 24 hours to achieve the color with stainless steel fermentation. Big citrus aroma with lemon zest and grapefruit. Subtle, tart blackberry fruit layered over a clean finish.
Revolutionary Red – Currently out of Stock
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon was pressed early and fermented in stainless steel while the Cabernet Franc was fermented on the skins and aged in new American Oak. At 12.8% alcohol, this is a lighter bodied red blend in the traditional Beaujolais style which accounts for a lighter color similar to that of a Pinot Noir. Hints of black pepper at first sniff which changes with oxygen contact. Decanting or continuous swirling and sipping really opens up this wine and the change is remarkable. Best served lightly chilled.
Blueberry
True to the fruit, rich in color and flavor with a nice tart finish.
Blackberry
Our blackberry wine is here!.
Muscadine
Light and silky smooth with a mild sweetness and pleasant acidity on the finish.
