Overmountain Vineyards (OMV) is a family-run winery situated on a 70-acre family-owned farm in the Tryon Foothills of Polk County, NC.
Winemakers Frank Lilly and his daughter Sofia create handcrafted and distinctive French-style wines primarily from 18 acres of their own estate-grown fruit.
Overmountain Vineyards Tasting Room is situated in a unique cottage overlooking the Tryon Foothills.

This year, the weather across the Southeast, and especially here in the Western North Carolina foothills, has presented unique challenges. From heavy rains that tested the vines to stretches of intense heat and humidity, the growing season has kept us on our toes. Mother Nature reminded us that each vintage tells its own story, shaped by the climate of the year.
Despite the hurdles, we are grateful to be walking the vineyard rows today and seeing the reward of months of care and resilience. The fruit hanging on the vines is abundant and beautiful, and our team is working hard to bring in the harvest at just the right moment.
It’s a season of long days, full baskets, and the exciting promise of the wines that will come from this year’s crop. From vine to cellar, this season is one of resilience and reward, and we can’t wait for you to taste the story of 2025 in the glass.
